Max: 6 participants
$30/month (Jan-May)

Herbal Energetics, Body Systems & Folk Medicine Making
Tuesday 11:30-3:30 pm
Ages 10-15
Max: 8 participants
$105/month (Jan-May) + $40 one time materials fee for new students
Instructor: Susan Edwards
Plants and the human body go hand in hand, and they also go way back! Herbal energetics give us a common language for discussing plants and how we interpret their actions in the body. In this course, we will discuss the history & current use of Folk Medicine, the value of understanding energetics of the person in combination with the energetics of the plant, while still exploring deeper the specific systems of the body.
This class combines components of biology, anatomy, ethnobotany, history, biochemistry, herbal medicine, and naturalist skills, as participants navigate their way through the concepts of energetics and how plants and humans both have their own unique way of being and constitutions that guide our individual health.
This class will combine both indoor and outdoor experiences. Throughout the semester we will experience a range of activities from hiking & wild crafting, herbal medicine prep in the kitchen, reading from the herb text, coloring, sketching, writing, playing games, formulating, listening, processing, and more.
This class requires a one-time materials fee ($40) for new students that will purchase each participant 2 supporting texts to be used in class and taken home throughout the semester/year. Fall semester participants already have these texts and the materials fee is not needed for spring semester for them. Each participant will receive their own copy of:
- Body into Balance: a holistic guide to herbal self care by Maria Noêl Groves
- The herbaceous human coloring book by @theherbaceoushuman team.
